Pilot “Quality Aquaculture” Course of the MareSkill Project Launches in Bari – ARTI – the Regional Agency for Technology, technology transfer, and Innovation, as a partner of the Interreg Italy-Croatia MareSkill project, has launched the pilot course “Quality Aquaculture”. This initiative has been developed in collaboration with the Department of Veterinary Medicine of the University of Bari Aldo Moro.
The course, which spans 50 hours, is designed to provide advanced skills in sustainable and smart aquaculture, with a particular focus on producing high-quality fish products in line with European standards. The initiative is targeted at graduates, PhD candidates, researchers, and professionals in the aquaculture sector from both Italy and Croatia.
The training program is organized into three modules, with sessions scheduled between March 2025 and June 2026:
• Module 1 – Sustainable Aquaculture (Bari, 7–8 March 2025)
• Module 2 – Innovative Technologies and Methods for Sustainable Aquaculture (Autumn 2025)
• Module 3 – Communication and Innovation in Aquaculture (Spring 2026)
The first module, set to take place in Bari on 7 and 8 March 2025, will concentrate on sustainability in the fisheries sector. The two days of training will be held at the Grand Hotel delle Nazioni (Lungomare Nazario Sauro, 7) and the ABAP – APS headquarters (Via Giulio Petroni 15/f). The program features roundtable discussions, expert presentations, and case studies on topics such as innovative feeding strategies, plastic-free mollusc farming, and techniques to enhance the value of fish products. Speakers include experts from Skretting Italia, Novamont SpA, the Polytechnic University of the Marche, as well as representatives from major retail companies.
With this initiative, the MareSkill project aims to reinforce cooperation between Italy and Croatia and promote a more sustainable and competitive aquaculture industry.
