Reham’s academic journey began at Zagazig University, where she graduated with honors in microbiology from the Faculty of Science. Her MSc and PhD research focused on mycotoxins, specifically Ochratoxin in fish feed, and methods for their reduction—critical topics that have profound implications for aquaculture and food safety.
Since 2008, Reham has been a researcher at the Fish Nutrition and Feed Technology Department at the Central Laboratory for Aquaculture Researches in Egypt.
Her early work involved feed formulation, feed storage, and studying the impact of fish nutrition on aquaculture. Over the years, her passion for the field only grew stronger, driven by her belief in aquaculture’s role in promoting sustainability and food security.
Reham’s training and qualifications have been instrumental in her career, equipping her with the knowledge and field experience necessary to develop innovative feed solutions that benefit the aquaculture sector. Additionally, she has conducted numerous training courses, both in-person and online, to share her expertise with trainees and professionals in the field.

She has also conducted farm visits to advise on best management practices, leading to higher productivity and reduced costs for farmers. One of her most rewarding experiences was earning certification from CIHEAM Bari in Italy, where she excelled and had the opportunity to exchange knowledge and collaborate with experts from Mediterranean and African countries. This experience further honed her skills and broadened her perspectives, allowing her to make even greater contributions to the field.
