FISH4ACP virtual tour puts the spotlight on women – Women play an important role in fisheries and aquaculture. However, their voices are not always heard and the work they do is often obscured. That is why the FAO FISH4ACP virtual tour will put the spotlight on women in the fisheries and aquaculture value chains on 13 December.
The online event will take place from 14:30 to 16:00 (CET) and will allow you to get to know the women who manage oyster production in The Gambia and the women who are involved in the processing and sale of kapenta from Lake Tanganyika in Zambia.
The event will allow to know the challenges that women have to face to obtain equal rights and decision-making power and to improve working conditions and will shed light on initiatives that promote gender equality.
This is the sixth edition of the FISH4ACP virtual tour, an online conversation on the development of the fisheries and aquaculture value chain that brings together local fishermen and fishery workers, value chain stakeholders, experts, donors and the development community.
To participate on December 13 from 14:30 – 16:00 (CET) register here to follow the virtual event on Zoom.
